Much thanks to Danielle Van Sprung and Josh Mills for calling the morning show….from Down Under.. here is how it happened:

The unexpected call came from some Texas Country fans in Mooroolbark, Australia, Wednesday Morning December 22nd.  We give shout-outs every morning to people logged on to truecountrylubbock.com, and we noticed that someone in Australia was listening! Naturally, we invited them to call us toll free 1-877-741-1420. About 20 minutes later Steve got really excited and told me that we had a call from Down Under!

Danielle and Josh said they have a friend in Lubbock who told them about our station and where to find us online.

You never know what is going to happen on the Richie Gang Morning Show.   (Neither do we!)

Red and Black Blues

Thanks to Lindsey Rogers for taking time to write and perform our song…”Red And Black Blues.” We played it a couple of times on the morning show …pretty funny.  Listen to it here.

LARRY JOE TAYLOR GIVING WEST TEXANS A SHOT AT STARDOM!

I’ve had a secret to keep for a few months now, and I finally got to let the cat out of the bag today! (Actually my friend Larry Joe Taylor got to do the honors.) It’s the grand prize for the Blue Light’s Singer Songwriter Showdown Fall Edition! And it’s a biggie! The Blue Light offers the chance for aspiring singer songwriters to take the stage every Monday night. If you haven’t been to songwriter’s night at the Blue Light, it’s time you did. It’s proof that some of the best talent really does come from right here in West Texas. Anyhow, they hold a singer songwriter showdown twice a year. Spring and Fall! The Fall edition is going on now thru Nov. 1. and a few months ago I worked up a grand prize that any aspiring songwriter should jump at the chance to do! I was hanging out with Larry Joe Taylor after a show he played in Midland a few months ago. We were discussing how much talent comes from right here on the South Plains. Even LJT who lives in Stephenville knows it. So we got to talking, I told him about the Blue Light’s contest and before I knew it – he had offered to come down and judge the finale and not only that –  he also offered to give the grand prize winner a slot on his acoustic stage at Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival in Stephenville this Spring. Whaaaat? This is big! Only the biggest Texas Music Festival of the year! And because of LJT believing in West Texas music – this could really help the career of one of our very own! So make sure you are out there every Monday night, supporting these guys and gals do their thing on the Blue Light stage and let’s get ready to shoot one of them off to stardom! Below is a pic of me and LJT AT HIS LJT music festival last Spring. And the phone call that revealed it all today – if you missed it. Listen below.

Former Raider Football Greats Talk Tech Football on the Morning Show

The Reagor Auto Mall Monday Morning Quarterback segment with former Raider greats Bart Reagor and Rodney Allison made its debut today. Both Rodney and Bart were really good with an analysis of the Tech UT game. Both agree that this was a game we could have won….but coulda, shoulda, woulda doesn’t put “W’s” on the record.  Rodney says to everyone who misses Mike Leach give Coach Tuberville some time, the season is young and we have some great opportunities ahead of us.

Richie Gang!

Listen in every Monday morning at 8:30 for the Reagor Auto Mall Monday Morning Quarterback show with Bart Reagor and Rodney Allison.
