Wow – just when I thought there was really nothing dramam filled going on in the “scene” right now – I find THIS! Around here we love Beck and Cauthen. (oooops can’t call them that anymore.) You know – they have the song “Flatland” that describes Lubbock to a T. Welll – seems like somoeone did not like them using the name Beck. Yep, the singer Beck – and his panties are all in a wad. This is from the Beck and Cauthen facebook page explaining to their fans why they are changing their name to Sons of Fathers. (which i like better anyway,,,take that BECK!!)
Hello Beck & Cauthen fans –
We are changing our name from Beck & Cauthen to Sons of Fathers.
To our surprise, we got a letter last week from representatives of Beck, who asked us to change it. We don’t want to create confusion with Beck, or for that matter Jeff Beck, Glenn Beck, Beck’s beer, or any other Beck. We hope he listened to some tunes from the new album, also called ‘Sons of Fathers!’
It was a sign for us to change the name to something that included the whole band, not just a duo. We are all in this together and we all play a role. We used the phrase “Sons of Fathers” long before we wrote the song and changed the band name. It is our expression about the past, our families, our roots and who we are, good or bad, right or wrong.
Please follow us as we move over our to the new name:

Look out for a new website but we’ll leave this one up in the meantime.
Right now, we’re focused on getting ready to play our second and third New York shows in October along with a few on the way up and on the way back. We hope to see you out there!
Sons of Fathers, it’s who we are and we all stand for it.
