The South Plains Food Bank needs your help!
The economic downturn has many hard working families having to make choices between paying rent, utility bills, fuel, prescriptions, or food.
The result has caused a much greater demand on the Food Bank, many of who are first time users of the food bank’s service and many of whom have contributed food to past food drives.
We care about the community and True Country 105.3 FM is behind an effort to help out. It’s called SOS! or Summer of Sharing.
Here’s what you can do: next Monday evening, that’s August 16th, at 5:00pm, take a couple of bags groceries to the South Plains Food Bank located at 4612 Locust Avenue… That’s just off of east 50th street and if needed you can call the food bank for directions at 763-3003. And be a part of the Summer of Sharing.
The food bank is looking for non-perishable items like cans of vegetables and meats. Bags of beans and rice are good too.
Let’s see if we can put 10 tons of food back on those shelves to help a lot of our neighbors here in Lubbock and South Plains through the fall.
We’re calling out an SOS with The South Plains Food Bank and True Country 105.3
