The Super Happy Funtime Burlesque Show

This was a wild night!

The Super Happy Funtime Burlesque Show came to town August 18th, and guess who was out there live? Yep, me. I have to say, a burlesque show isn’t really my scene usually, and I probably wouldn’t have gone to this show if not for the fact that I was doing a live remote there and was working that night, but I will admit that it was one really fun night. First off, it was at Bash’s 2, which is a great venue for this kind of show. Big enough that it can handle a crowd, but small enough that you can see from anywhere. Second, it wasn’t really a “burlesque” show in the sense I had imagined. It was more of a wild show. There were some dancing girls, as any burlesque would have to have, but they weren’t the main focus of the show, and of their part was much less about being scantily clad, and more about the comedy of the show. The band was fantastic, a full 5 piece who really lit up the room and there were some hilarious segments where the crowd was rolling because they were laughing so hard. All in all it was a great show. It’s something very different for Lubbock and it was a great night at Bash Riprock’s 2.

Here’s a video and some pics.
